TV Image Coach and the Art Attack

Published by TVImageCoach at 10:32 pm under News and Events

There’s hope! That’s what I said as I looked out into the jammed-packed auditorium at Pineloch Elementary School in Orlando’s inner city this week. I served as the Emcee for a National Arts Poster Competition. The theme of the posters had to do with making healthy lifestyle choices in an effort to prevent obesity. My TV experience and great ad-libbing skills made me perfect for this gig which was sponsored by the Orlando Chapter of The Links, Incorporated and school Community Partner, KPMG.

The K – 5th graders were so attentive and well behaved…thanks in large part to the exceptional leadership of principal Dr. Janice Choice and her incredible staff. Students took center stage playing instruments, singing, and putting on a fantastic step show. It was wonderful to share the spotlight with such dynamic young people. It’s proof that given the right support and encouragement, any child can achieve far beyond her current living situation.

As the celebrity host, I announced the National Arts Poster Competition winners and had the honor of personally congratulating each one of them. The 1st place ribbon holders will go on to complete in Seattle, Washington for the grand prize.

Let me ask you…when’s the last time you were out making a difference in your community? Not only is it good for the SOUL, but it’s good for PR too! Try it, you’ll like it!

Here’s believing our children are our future…
