Media Scare Tactics Prove To Be A Multi Million Dollar Business

New Yorker Obama Cover

The New Yorker Magazine has stolen the thunder from Brad and Angelina’s $11,000,000 twin babies that’s for sure. The New Yorker cartoon cover picturing presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama dressed as a Muslim, while his wife Michelle is portrayed as a terrorist with a portrait of Osama Bin Laden in the background, hanging over a fireplace along with a burning American flag is making headline news.

While The New Yorker Magazine defends its position as simply being a satirical look at the scare tactics and misinformation being used to derail Obama’s campaign, I say this is no more than big business. The New Yorker Magazine like any business in a capitalist society, is out to make money, and it is trying to do that at the expense of this very popular couple. These are politicians. They are fair game to any news reporter, publication, or blogger. But how they, or you and I react to controversial matters in the media is far more important.

Obama’s campaign responded to the cover being “tasteless and offensive.” When reporters asked Senator Obama what he thought about the cover, he shrugged his shoulders and said, “I have no response to that.” There is your lesson!

My friends and acquaintances are very aware I have a history with Jackson, and it is truly a professional history. They wanted to know my thoughts regarding his comments.

O.K., here you go. Jackson admitted to making, “crude and hurtful remarks about Obama” following an interview with a Fox News correspondent. As a man who has been in front of media for more than 20 years, should he have been surprised that there was an open microphone? The answer is really simple: No!

My thoughts: What Was He Thinking?
